The future of computing will be defined by several key trends that are occurring in the market. The biggest driver for the enterprise IT industry has been Moore’s law which has fueled strong historical growth. While Moore’s law is slowing down, the future of the computing market will be driven by hybrid, multi-cloud, software-defined and ultimately delivering on digital transformation in the enterprise.
Gartner predicts that, by 2020, 75% of organizations will have deployed a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud model. The future is hybrid and the future is multi-cloud, capabilities which are necessary to maintain leadership in IT capabilities.
Compute performance requirements are accelerating, while Moore’s law is decelerating, posing a unique challenge for HPC leaders. Leveraging increasingly fragmented architectures with optimal tuning across the stack is critical to maintain the performance gains end-user require. These performance gains will drive the next generation of innovations and digital transformation in the enterprise.
